Helleborus orientalis Yellow form, ex E A Bowles
from Frank Rhodes
Always the first in the year to flower, this Hellebore is usually fully open on New Years Day. It was given to me on 6th February 1988, in full flower at the time – a piece was split off for me, and planted in its present position, where it has flourished ever since.
My file card simply says ‘ex Bowles’ but my recollection is that I was told that it was a yellow form which Bowles selected at Myddleton House.
